Hampton Inn – Penn Yan, NY (2016)

One of our favorite clients, Chris Iversen, came to us in the summer of 2013 with a plan to build a full-service Hampton Inn on the northern tip of Keuka Lake. The location was prime for development and what better idea than a destination hotel on one of the most popular of the Finger Lakes.

Although Hampton Inns, a Hilton hotel, are typically prototype in terms of their footprint and program, the site would not allow for a totally prototype hotel. The existing topography and steps in the grade towards the lake required the hotel’s program and spatial relationships to be studied. In the end, the approved design was for a 72 unit hotel spread over four floors including a courtyard level walkout on the lake side of the building and a first floor entrance from parking on the north side. The hotel includes two large meeting rooms, business center, fitness center, indoor pool and large pre-function gathering spaces. The guestroom mix includes the typical king and double queen rooms as well as king and queen suite courtyard units with walkout patios.
The project is currently under construction and should be open for business by late summer of 2016.
